Effect of soil tillage and nitrogen fertilizer management on methane emissions from irrigated rice fields in Central Java, Indonesia

چکیده

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) production in the future aims to increase productivity every year with high input technology, including irrigated rice. However, practices of rice fields have a methane (CH4) potential. Soil tillage could affect CH4 emission conditions. Puddling and flooding through soil create reduction conditions that promote by methanogenic bacteria. The objective was determine effect N fertilizer management on emissions from heavy-textured soil. field experiment arranged split-plot design which main plot consisted maximum no-tillage. Nitrogen split control without N, prilled urea broadcasting, deep placement, ammonium sulfate (AS) AS tablet placement. No-tillage reduce 15.58% compared tillage. grain yield for no-tillage lower than 2.73 3.68 t ha-1, respectively. placement emitted higher other practices. 96 97 kg ha-1 season-1 3.79 4.25 application fertilizers incorporated into increased mitigated fields.

Nitrogen oxide and methane emissions under varying tillage and fertilizer management.

Comprehensive assessment of the total greenhouse gas (GHG) budget of reduced tillage agricultural systems must consider emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4), each of which have higher global warming potentials than carbon dioxide (CO2). Tillage intensity may also impact nitric oxide (NO) emissions, which can have various environmental and agronomic impacts. In 2003 and 2004, we us...

Influence of fertilizer management and water regime on methane emission from rice fields

Experiments were conducted to determine methane emission from a rainfed lowland rice field (water depth about 3–30 cm) and an irrigated shallow rice field (4–6 cm), both planted to the same cultivar, cv. ‘Gayatri,’ as influenced by fertilizer management practices. Methane emission peaked from 100 to 125 days after transplanting followed by a decline in rainfed lowland field plots. Application o...

Nitrogen, tillage, and crop rotation effects on nitrous oxide emissions from irrigated cropping systems.

We evaluated the effects of irrigated crop management practices on nitrous oxide (N(2)O) emissions from soil. Emissions were monitored from several irrigated cropping systems receiving N fertilizer rates ranging from 0 to 246 kg N ha(-1) during the 2005 and 2006 growing seasons. Cropping systems included conventional-till (CT) continuous corn (Zea mays L.), no-till (NT) continuous corn, NT corn...

Evaluation of Tillage, Nitrogen Fertilizer and Crop Residue Management on some Agronomic Traits of Soybean

This study setout to investigate the effect of wheat residue, tillage, and nitrogen fertilizer management on some agronomic traits of soybean as a split split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plots included wheat residue management: collecting and leaving residue and sub plot included tillage (without tillage and conventional tillage), and the sub...
